3 Reasons why our education system is flawed.
"Education is nectar that provides you sense of direction in this world filled with distractions, once a student is through with his/her education all that remains in front of them is life"-Chanakya Niti
But does this statement complement today's education system? NO!
So, what's wrong with our education system? Let us together try to figure it out!

What is education exactly?
Education is a purposeful activity directed at achieving certain aims, such as transmitting knowledge or fostering skills and character traits.
But these definitions are bookish, so what exactly is education and if asked more precisely then what does it truly mean to be educated?
education is conveying all necessary traits and skills to a student which are necessary for children to survive and thrive in this world, for example - how to convey your emotions, share your feelings, and thoughts with others and most importantly how to critically think and be a problem solver!
but sadly, none of this stands true in modern education system! What exactly are flaws in this system?
1) Education system that puts males at a disadvantage.
In this education system males are subjected to social disadvantage as maximum teachers in middle school and high school are females and male students don't often get to see male professors, due to male students may not be able to convey their problems with the teachers and even if they are courageous enough to share their problems, female teachers may not be able to understand it and come up with a solution, even male students develop inferiority complexes if they don't get to see male teachers(such cases are more common in middle school when student's brains are not developed enough to fundamentally think and differentiate between right and wrong)
that's not all! The education system itself is not designed considering needs of male students due to which they suffer academically as well!
Let's have a look at this report:-
Female to male ratio in educational institutions.
source - https://www.stlouisfed.org/on-the-economy/2022/mar/why-women-outnumber-men-college-enrollment
In 1970, men outnumbered women in college, accounting for 59% of undergraduate enrollment in two-year institutions and 57% in four-year institutions. This was partly due to the high numbers of men enrolling for the purpose of avoiding conscription during the Vietnam War. In fact, the gender enrollment gap closed sharply as soon as the draft ended in 1973. By 1980, gender was perfectly balanced in four-year colleges, and women outnumbered men in two-year schools, accounting for 55% of enrollment in those institutions.
Since 1980, the female-to-male ratio in two-year college enrollment continued to increase until it hit about 1.4 in 1995, stabilizing at that point. The relative female-to-male ratio in four-year college enrollment, however, increased steadily throughout this time period, reaching 1.3 in the fall of 2019.
What all of this means is that the stark gender imbalance featured in recent media discussions is simply a continuation of an ongoing historical trend and that no recent policy change (e.g., reforms in SAT scoring) can explain the presence of a historical trend.
although trend suggests that men are disadvantaged, it's important to recognize that gender inequality in education is not a uniform phenomenon, but rather a context-specific issue that requires different approaches and solutions depending on the situation. It is also important to acknowledge that both men and women may face challenges and discrimination in education based on their gender identity or expression. The goal of gender equality in education is to ensure that all learners have equal access to quality education that empowers them to reach their full potential.
2) We are producing organic storage devices
Every child is fundamentally unique, some are slow learners but great at implementing what they have learned in practical world, some are fast learners but quicky forget what they grasped moments ago, some are linguistically subpar while some hesitate to open up with peers, all these kids with different abilities are thrown in same factory which mass produces 'educated students' so they could hold their own in this world after teaching them few formulas of mathematics and physics.
If a child is good at a subject, then he/she must be encouraged to learn more about it, and gain practical experience since in today's modern world, experience overpowers theoretical knowledge and we still emphasize more about how many books have you stored in brain.
3)Never taught the importance of money and finances
Managing your finances is most crucial in the modern world, money has power to influence your lifestyle and most importantly, its essential for survival! If money holds this much importance in one's life, then why aren't we taught anything about money in our schools?
Money rots if it is not circulated in the system, and eventually loses its shine, if you guys want to know about money and how it functions, then i can cover this topic in my next blog and educate you about fundamentals of money.
